Blank Canvas: Our Armillary sphere

In January, D&D is all about Art. Our Black Canvas campaign is showcasing artwork in combination with our restaurants all over London.

Here at Orrery, we will be shining  a spotlight on the Armillary sphere located in the entrance to our main restaurant. It is the inspiration for our name ‘Orrery’ and is generously loaned to us by the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. It was created in 1602 by Johannes Paolo Ferrari.

An Armillary is a model of the solar system and an Earth-centred instrument that was originally developed by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy.
