At Orrery, we’re getting involved in the month-long celebration of all things Bordeaux across D&D restaurants by holding our Bordeaux Marathon Tasting on Thursday 2nd October at 6.30pm.
Whilst the truly hardy don trainers and shorts for Bordeaux’s famous ‘Marathon du Medoc’ we will take a more leisurely trot through the wonderful wines of the World’s leading wine region. We head from the start line to try two of their wonderful and sometimes less-lauded whites, from the young and fresh to the more mature and sensual. A reviving rose then leads into a trot though the great regions of St Emilion, Pessac Leognan and into Medoc – the home of the Marathon and some of the world’s greatest wines. We’ll try diverse styles, great vintages and impeccable producers on an evening jog to remember.
Wines we will be sampling on the evening:
Chateau Bonnet Blanc Reserve Entre-Deux-Mers 2013
Chateau Couhins Lurton Blanc 2004
Chateau Bonnet Reserve Bordeaux Rose 2013
Chateau Fleur-Pourret St-Emilion Grand Cru 2004
Chateau Coucheroy Pessac Leognan Rouge 2008
Mademoiselle L Haut Medoc 2011
Places at the tasting are £25 per person. For more information about our upcoming wine events or to book a place on this tasting, email us or call 020 7616 8000. Places are limited and advanced bookings are essential. Credit card details will be taken to secure your booking.
From 12th September – 12th October, we are also showcasing some of our favourite bottles from perhaps the most famous wine region of them all as part of our Bordeauxlicious festival. There are lots of interesting Bordeaux wines to try by the glass and the bottle – we hope you enjoy our selection.
